Associate Professor of Strategy at INSEAD.
His research career is devoted to advancing the field of behavioral strategy by studying the social and psychological processes underlying executive behaviors, firm-level decisions, and organizational performance. His studies are aimed at understanding how factors such as status, ingratiation, feedback, and public image influence managerial decisions, particularly in the domain of corporate governance.
Before joining INSEAD, Prof. Stern was a standing faculty member at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has taught MBA, EMBA and executive courses in the United States, Israel, Singapore, and Italy.
He is on the editorial board of Strategic Management Journal, and has been involved in editorial and reviewing roles for Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, and Organization Science.
Prof. Stern has cofounded and chaired several international conferences including the Strategic Management Society Special Conference on Startup and Restart Strategies, the Israel Strategy Conference, the Midwest Strategy Meetings (MSM), and the Strategic Management Society Initiative for Academic Collaboration in the Middle East and North Africa (IACMENA).
