Brent Ahrens

Has spearheaded successful investments in novel medical device, diagnostic and biopharmaceutical companies.
Led numerous strategic investments in multiple companies, including Cerexa (FRX), Coapt Systems, CoAxia, DexCom (DXCM), Novare Surgical, Pavad Medical, Peninsula Pharmaceuticals (JNJ), Relievant MedSystems, Revivant (ZOLL) and Transoma Medical.

Prior to joining Canaan, Brent honed his operational and investing skills at a variety of top tier companies, including General Surgical Innovations and Ethicon Endo-Surgery (Johnson & Johnson).  In addition, he worked for IAP Research, a developer of technologies for defense and industrial applications.

Holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
